On October 2, 1996, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps to commemorate and call attention to Endangered Species in the United States. Shown here on a First Day Cover, are five of these animals - the Black Footed Ferret, the Thick Billed Parrot, the Hawaiian Monk Seal, the American Crocodile, and the Ocelot.  The complete set of fifteen was cancelled from the city of issue (San Diego, Ca.) on the first day of issue (see above.) Note the special postmark designed to cancel this set of stamps on its 'birthday.'

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts the parrot and crocodile from these five. Collectible, historic, this cover pays tribute to the animals who are relying on us for their future.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
