On September 29, 1967, the USPS issued two stamps to commemorate the First US Space Walk by astronaut Edward H. White II on June 3, 1965, three months after the world's first Space Walk by the Soviets. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with both stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Kennedy Space Center, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows White tethered to the space capsule and the rocket lifting Gemini 4 into Space.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
