On May 28, 1998, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps chosen to represent the decade of the 1920's in its 150 stamp series called 'Celebrate the Century.' Shown here is the stamp commemorating the struggle for Woman's Suffrage and the passage of the 19th Amendment August 26, 1920 on a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chicago, Il) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a woman holding an 'official ballot. The picture is printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional look to the artwork; it's surrounded by an embossed gold border. This is one of several collectible, historic pieces of Woman's Rights and American History Memorabilia offered by Wall Art Collectbles.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
