1995 CIVIL WAR SET OF 20 STAMPS MATTED FIRST DAY COVER...

On June 29, 1995, the USPS issued a set of twenty stamps in the form of a souvenir sheet commemorating people and events of the Civil War.  Shown here is the entire souvenir sheet including the header on an envelope with all stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Gettysburg, PA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a Union and Confederate soldier in hand to hand combat with their respective flags above.  Each stamp has a brief description printed on the reverse side; we've included a copy of this information for you as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.

Matted in blue, the envelope will be encased in a clear, acid-free sleeve, before being adhered to the mat.  If in the future you no longer wish this displayed on the wall, the sleeve can be gently cut and the cover removed for safe keeping.  This is an extremely collectible Civil War item and will only become more valuable in time.  For framing, the entire piece is sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame.
