On February 8, 1984, Yugoslavia issued a set stamps celebrating the XVI Olympic Winter Games held in Sarajevo. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp celebrating the Opening Day depicting a skier cancelled from the city of issue (Sarajevo) on the first day of issue - also the opening day for these Olympics - captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a skier by renowned artist Andreja Milenkovich. The producer of this cover has also included a short commentary about the tradition of the Opening Day Ceremonies; a copy has been made for you. Historic, collectible this is a great piece of Olympic Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
