On August 17, 1972, the USPS issued three stamps celebrating the XI Olympic Winter Games held in Sapporo, Japan and the XI Olympic Summer Games held in Munich, Germany. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for the winter games depicting Bobsledding cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a bobsled racing down the course at roughly 90 mph. Historic, collectible this is a great piece of Olympic Memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
