On February 18, 1960, the USPS issued a stamp celebrating the VIII Olympic Winter Games held in Squaw Valley, California. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Olympic Valley, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the extra "skier" postmaark created for the cancellation of first day covers.

The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a downhill skier. Cancelled on the opening day of these games, this is a historic, collectible piece of Olympic Memorabilia.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
