The Isand of Grenada issued this Souvenir Sheet with nine stamps to celebrate '100 Years of Cinema,' with the stamps featuring some old and new Hollywood Legends...Charlie Chaplin, Shirley Temple, Tracy & Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Marlon Brando, and Tom Cruise, with the Oscar and the Hollywood Hills rounding out the nine. A souvenir sheet is produced with the purpose of being collected...the stamp or stamps are surrounded by extra artwork making a cohesive 'picture.'
Below are six U.S., highly collectible Movie Stamps. From left to right they commemorate Drive-In Movies; "The Great Train Robbery", D.W. Griffith; 50th Anniversary of Motion Pictures -1944; Orson Welles-"Citizen Kane;" and, 3-D Movies. The four 'square' stamps come from the 150 set of stamps known as Celebrate the Century....each of these stamps chosen as part of a fifteen stamp set to represent a particular decade.
